Improv (Beginning) Class Day/Time TBD
Improv is the art of listening and reacting honestly to your scene partner, being comfortable with messing up and having a great time.
We will teach you how to create a character (similar to the way they teach at The Groundlings) and teach you how to put a scene together (similar to the style of Upright Citizens Brigade). We will focus on different forms of improv, different ways to inspire a scene, and identify more specifically how to make each performer lean into their strengths.
The first half of the class features activities and warm ups that work on both of these philosophies. The second half is either a pre-planned activity where you will be asked to dress up and improvise as a character you’ve constructed, or us practicing how to put together a show. The goal is that by the end you will have formed an improv team with your peers, you will have decided on a form that works best for you, and you’ll be ready to perform with any other improviser -- regardless of their experience!
Class is 90 min. Call for tuition prices.
